Hubungan antara aksesibilitas dengan penyebaran penduduk disampaikan oleh W.R. Blunden dan J.A Black dalam bukunya yang berjudul “The Land-Use/Transport System” yang menyatakan bahwa adanya hubungan antara penyebaran penduduk dengan aksesibilitas yang tersedia di suatu lokasi.
“….When the spatial distribution of population known (say, at the census tract level) it is straightforward to calculate the proportion of those who live within specified distances or travel times (by mode) of each facility. Good accesibility is achieved when the curve of cumulative proportion of the study area population within specified distances (or travel times) has a step gradient and starts close to the y-axis, as in fig. On the other hand, poor accesibility occurs when the distances or times, involved are lengthy or the cumulative curve has a gentle gradient.”
